Intel Ranking Tool

This was an interesting assignment. I think the hardest part was navigating the google web page and editing it the way I wanted it to look. I actually had a group of 8 kids in my class do the assignment today. They found it easy to follow the directions on the web and it kept their attention because they love to get on the computer. We took the class period on Tuesday to come up with the actual list to rank. When they got in their groups, there was a little arguing amongst the groups on the rankings. Next week, I plan on having the groups debate why they ranked the skills the way they did. Here is my Intel Ranking Tool.

PhotoShop Express

This was an interesting assignment. There were so many different things you could do with the photo on the PhotoShop Express. I tried all of the tools to see what I wanted the picture to look like. I even made the kids eyes appear above them. I liked the way the picture looked the way it would be drawn. I would use this account to make some of my pictures black and white. Here is my album.

Web Album

I already had a snapfish account so I just used one of the previous albums I had already created.
My girlfriend and I created this account several months ago to upload and share recent pictures of the kids with family.

Online Graph 2

The information for IEP students per state was difficult to find. I found information for the early 2000s, but no later. I finally found each state's percentage on the ed.gov website. West Virginia's percentage of IEP students is higher than all the other states surrounding them in Per Capita Personal Income. You can say that the lower income states would have a higher percentage of IEP students. I don't believe that this is completely true. If you say that, then you would believe that only lower income families have children with learning disabilities. Students with learning disabilities come from a variety of situations, you can not just pinpoint low income as the main cause. I did a bar graph for the per capita income and a pie chart for the percentage of IEP students.

Organizing work using Graphic Tools

Here is the link. I didn't use all the assignments. I used one or two from each. I think this is a great tool for students to use. They could put all their assignment on with a link to each one.

Online Graphic 1

I never realized you could create a graph so easy. The Kid's Zone web page would be great for students to learn to create graphs to use in the classroom. West Virginia's test scores are a little below the average of nation. The earlier year's scores were closer than the scores of the most recent years.

Image Format

Here is my spreadsheet and my narrative.

Graphic Screen Grab

I searched the local newspaper for photos of the football team. Once I found the picture I wanted, I used the print screen function and then pasted it Microsoft Paint. When the picture was on Paint, I used the selection tools to cut out everything around the picture. I used the spray paint to type Indians into the top of the picture. I tried to change the dirt on the field to the color of grass on the field. It was very hard to see it, but it worked. I saved it as a JPEG file and added the image to the blog. The photo was 67.1 KB and the dimensions were 1024 x 768. The picture was saved to the paint shop photo album picture. A neat way I could incorporate this into my classroom would be to individual pictures of fruit and set it up to show different types of math problems. Adding, subtracting would be the easiest to do. The students could keep adding images for different answers.

Graphic from Scratch

This was easy, if I did it right. I used the paint program on my computer. I used the pencil to draw the mouth, the shapes for the eyes and nose, and the spray paint for the hair. I then saved it as a JPEG and upload to my Google Docs. I hope that is where I was supposed to save it. Here is my self portrait.

Multimodal Learning Though Media

The article was hard to understand the first time I read it. The more I read the clearer it became. Learning is enhanced through the use multimodal learning. Even with the different learning styles of students, they increase their skills through pictures, narrations, and animations. I hope I answered all the questions. Here is my Multimodal Learning Document.

I can t figure out how to make the page just the presentation. I am going to work on this, but here is my Embedded Google Presentation for now.

Google Docs Presentation

After searching and trying different ways to prepare the slide, I learned to use the action buttons for viewers to be able to navigate from page to page and even back to the first page. I also learned to save as PPS with no problem. I hope it runs alright. Here is my Google Docs Presentation.

PowerPoint Web Page

I couldnt understand why my web page wouldnt show up. What I was doing was not publishing the web page. I now understand how to save a web page. I hope this is correct. Sometimes it takes many times being wrong to finally get it right. Here is my PowerPoint Web Page.

Fraction Jeopardy

This is a very great teaching tool. It was easy to navigate once you have an understanding of power point. I used this tool already, helping students study for a science test. I will continue to use this in my class. Here is the LINK.
